Cultural Resources
Chuck Williams
Conducts archeological surveys of Red Rock Canyon and extended areas to monitor and photo-document sites, rock art and artifacts; emplace protective barriers when necessary [working with Natural Resources and BLM] or repair existing barriers.
Hospitality
Martha Burk
Running and coordination of quarterly general meeting dinners at the Visitor Center, annual Awards Banquet.
Plant
Clara Hatz
Maintains all landscaping located in the Visitor Center area, working with UN-R certified Master Gardeners, including the Tortoise Habitat. Coordination of specialized projects relating to any revegetation within Red Rock Canyon NCA.
Membership
Pat Williams
Maintain member computer database, record volunteer hours, renewal notification, membership cards and brochures, membership acquisition drives and related functions
Dedication Walkway Coordinator
Chuck Williams
Coordinates all aspects of the Dedication Walkway, including order acceptance, proofing, determining text suitability, coordinating work with vendor and notifying donors when work is complete.
Natural Resources
Mark Beauchamp
Participation in outdoor projects for resource enhancement and protection including trail maintenance and cleaning, repair and signing, graffiti removal, removal of non-indigenous species and habitat rehabilitation. Works closely with BLM personnel to preserve and protect Red Rock Canyon.
Newsletter
Julia Burke (acting)
Coordination, writing and editing of monthly Desert Trumpet, including researching and solicitation of articles, announcements and schedules; desktop publishing and graphics, printing and processing for mailing.
Tortoise Habitat Coordinator
Roger and Sue Kolar
Training and schedule coordination of habitat workers. Maintains records of 13 Desert Tortoise as well as coordinating routine maintenance in habitat. Works in cooperation with the Master Gardeners. Coordinates and maintains the Visitor Center Lizard Habitat.
Transportation
Awarding and managing the school bus scholarship program for spring and fall sessions. This program provides funds for eligible schools to participate in Canyon environmental classes. Applications accepted June 1 to September 1 for Fall/Winter term and from September 1 to December 1 for Spring/Summer term.
Procurment Team
Joe and Mary Labie
Fund raising through sale of items to the Red Rock Canyon Interpretive Association Bookstore. Researching and sourcing items, coordinating design with RRCIA, maintaining inventory, invoicing and delivery to the store.
Community Outreach
Facilitate programs based on the Mojave Desert ecology and archeology as these apply to Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. The committee will coordinate activities with the Nevada Interagency participants and develop programs for Red Rock Canyon NCA.
